Dear Resident,
Earlier this week, officers carried out patrols in central Peterborough as part of Op Glacier, our work to safeguard vulnerable women involved in street‑based sex work.
During the patrols, a driver who picked up a woman known to be involved in sex work was issued with a community protection warning. If he ignores this, then a more serious community protection notice can be issued. Our focus remains on protecting vulnerable people, while taking firm action against those who exploit them. We’re working with partners who actively engage with the women as part of efforts to divert them away from sex work.
If you have concerns or information that could help us, please report it online via www.cambs.police.uk or call 101. Always dial 999 in an emergency. Kind regards, Tim Goddard Communications officer |
